Mobile Client
FieldAssist Mobile Client is that part of FieldAssist which is used by the field service engineer. The engineer works with a PDA or with a laptop on which he receives the serviceorders. Per serviceorder he can request all relevant information, like address information, an overview of the machines present, the service history, replaced parts and previous notes of colleagues. Labour- and travel hours will be calculated automatically and the engineer is able to register used parts and order new parts. When the order is finished, the customer can directly digitally sign off the order form after which the order will be communicated to the Backoffice from where the invoice can be sent.
The handhelds are connected to a navigation system (TomTom for PDA's and Alturion for laptops). With one easy action, the most optimal route is shown in the navigation system, without losing any time. Another advantage of this GPS support is that the planning department at the office always has an up-to-date overview of the location of the engineers. They can see this in the Geographical Planboard.
Advantage
The service engineers are able to work much more efficiently because they always have access to the most recent information and are able to directly register new data (FieldAssist is available online as well as offline). The paper workorders are replaced by digital ones which reduces the amount of administrative work. Also the registration of travel- and labour hours, parts and kilometers driven goes much faster, which shortens the invoicing process and enables the customer to optimally manage his stock.
The latest version, FieldAssist 4, contains a complete new design of the Mobile Client, based on the Microsoft.Net Framework. This has increased the flexibility and the functionality has been expanded. We now have the possibility to configure user-interfaces and arrange complete workflows. These workflows guide you through a workorder step-by-step. Also intelligent questionnaires, inspection reports and sector specific templates can be defined. The Mobile Client will support various types of screenresolutions and –orientations. In this way the engineer can choose the resolution he prefers.
